In February, TV host and actress Maria Menounos announced that she and her husband Keven Undergaro were expecting their first child via surrogate. The news came after a long journey, which began in 2012, to grow their family. Now, the couple has revealed the sex of their little one.

Last Friday, Maria teased she would be announcing the sex of her child, sharing in a post, “Ok friends we can’t hold it in anymore! Originally I wanted it to be a surprise but we slipped and told dad…and have then slipped more. Lol dad is so excited he’s slipping too. So let’s do this!” This morning on today’s episode of the Heal Squad x Maria Menounos podcast, the Extra host shared, “We’re very excited to announce we have a baby girl coming.” She also addressed rumors from fans who guessed she would be having a boy. The rumors started after the actress appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan wearing a blue dress and discussing her pregnancy news.

In addition to revealing the sex, The Holiday Dating Guide star opened up about naming her firstborn. “We’ve been thinking about names for years, cause as you may or may not know, this has been almost a 10-year journey for us. We’ve thought about names forever, and I think we’ve come up with the perfect name for this baby.” She did note that their name choice could change once the couple, who tied the knot in 2017, meets their child. As for her child’s surname, the One Tree Hill alum shared, “Our daughter will have his last name within her name, but it will be Menounos.”

Congratulations to Maria and Keven on the news of their daughter! We wish them all the best as they prepare for their first child’s entrance into the world.
