Actress Julia Stiles has revealed that she and her husband, camera assistant Preston J. Cook, are expecting their second child. Julia revealed her growing baby bump while walking the red carpet during her attendance at a screening of The Humans at New York City’s Village East Cinema.
The Riviera star walked the carpet in a fitted black turtleneck dress that actually hid her baby bump. It wasn’t until she started caressing and holding her bump that it was clear she was pregnant! Julia has not announced the news on social media yet.
This new bundle of joy will be baby number two for Julia and Preston. The couple shares a 4-year-old son together named Strummer. The 10 Things I Hate About You star tied the knot with Preston in September 2017 while she was pregnant with Strummer. She has previously described the nuptials as a “shotgun wedding.”
Julia met Preston in 2015 on the set of the 2015 thriller Blackway. In January of 2016, she announced that the couple became engaged on Christmas. “Best Christmas Ever!” she captioned a photo of her and Preston holding hands at the beach on Isla Grande in Colombia, with her engagement ring on full display.
Julia has not been one to shy away from calling out mom-shamers since becoming a mother. Notably, she responded to criticism in December 2017 over how she placed Strummer in his carrier. “It was brought to my attention that in the previous photo I am not holding my baby correctly. Wow, I didn’t expect that,” she started in her post at the time. “What was supposed to be a shout out of products I like, suddenly becomes an invitation to comment on my baby, and my ability as a mother. That’s the internet for you, the carnivorous plant from ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. I was trying to keep much of my son’s image private, including, I guess, his little feet.
“And it was just a photo taken at home, not how I normally carry him around. Thanks for the concern, anyway. Yes, Mothers, always read the safety instructions. But also, Instagrammers: instead of writing snarky comments about a 5 week old, try dancing around your living room to a Clash record,” shed added, referencing the picture that accompanied the post. “It’s way more fun.”
