Last December, actress Keke Palmer announces she was expecting her first child with her partner Darius Jackson. She revealed the news during her hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live. Now, the Nope star has announced her little one’s arrival.
Keke and Darius have welcomed a son! The actress revealed she gave birth 2 days ago, referencing an image of the couple, where they appeared sleep deprived, during their first 48 hours of parenting. Before revealing her son’s name, Keke teased, “Born during Black History Month, with a name to match 😄!” The couple chose to name their son Leodis Andrellton Jackson, with the baby’s nickname Leo.
Keke has kept her relationship with Darius rather private over the years. In her announcement post, she gave a glimpse into their romance sharing, “Darius always made me playlists when we first started dating, ‘Someone’ by El Debarge was a favorite. We became each other’s someone and made a someone, look at God!” After revealing her pregnancy on SNL, the Lightyear star reflected on her hosting experience as well as her year as a whole, where she referenced her little one and her partner. “This year has taken me for a ride! And how cool, my baby and I are already doing it all together. Thank you God! Thank you to my other half @dvulton for giving me the things that only true unity can bring. Love is all we have isn’t it, you do nothing in this world alone and trust me, I am not alone! Very grateful.”
In January, Keke revealed her little one would be a boy, sharing stunning images of the couple during a maternity photo shoot. The couple was dressed in neutral tan and beige shades. The actress captioned the photo to reveal her child’s sex with a cute poem. “A long time ago, in a land not so far… The King and Queen got together to play. The play turned to love as many sunsets passed by. Now there’s a prince, who’s soon to arrive!”
