Model Kelly Kay, the late girlfriend of football player Spencer Webb, has announced the arrival of the couple’s child. Their little one was born on March 30th, eight months after the Oregon Duck’s player passed away following an accidental fall at 22 years old.
Kelly shared images of her and her little one at the hospital. The model welcomed a son and chose to give him a name that’s a nod to his father: Spider Webb. Spencer grew up with the nickname “Spider” and was what he was referred to on the football field. It even serves as his Instagram handle.
A little more than one month after Spencer’s passing, Kelly announced she was expecting. She wrote on Instagram at the time, “We created an angel before heaven gained one 🕊 all you ever wanted was to be a father…I know you’ll be the best one from up above. Can’t believe I have to do it without you but knowing I’ll have a piece of you keeps me going. I can’t wait to meet the person that’s half you, half me. I love you forever, both of you.”
Kelly has been open about her loss on Instagram and at the close of 2022, she reflected on her hopes for the coming year. “Nothing will ever take the pain away of losing Spencer, but I’m trying to go into this new year with the strength of the good memories. The strength from the outpour of love from my loved ones. The strength from my son who has kept me alive the second half of the year. You can’t forget the good or the bad. You can only find the strength to live through it all.”
