Macklemore, whose real name is Ben Haggerty, shares two daughters with Tricia: Sloane Ava Simone, 5, and Colette Koala, 3.

Last Mother’s Day, the “Thrift Shop” rapper shared a touching message to Tricia on Instagram. He wrote: “All these years, I always knew that you’d be the best mother. I had no idea that you would absolutely exceed all expectations once that time came 5 years ago. I love who you are. I love your boundless creativity and limitless imagination with our children. I admire your selflessness and ability to constantly show up for others. You have passed down humor, compassion, grit, empathy, and the spirit of wonder. To say our kids adore you would be a massive understatement. You are their world, as you are mine. We’re all so fortunate to have you in our lives. To learn from you. To soak up your heart. To become better ourselves just by knowing you. Happy Mothers Day. I love raising these girls with you.”

Macklemore and Tricia reportedly met in 2006, during a difficult time for Macklemore who was struggling with addiction at the time. The rapper has shared that he and Tricia met on the social media website MySpace. He popped the question in 2013 after dating for seven years. The couple tied the knot in the summer of 2015.

Congratulations to Macklemore and Tricia on adding another bundle of joy to the family! We wish them all the best as they prepare for their third child.
