Professional dancer Mark Ballas is adding a new role to his resume: dad! The Dancing with the Stars pro took to Instagram today to share his exciting news with his wife BC Jean, a singer and songwriter. “Coming soon.”
Mark posted a video collage to his Instagram with the caption “Life Lately” and showed the couple enjoying all of the things together. As the video played, the following text appeared on the screen throughout: “Lately we’ve been making new music, making birthday wishes, went to Disneyland, made more music stuff, turned off our phones and went to the beach.” For the final part, the words appeared more slowly on the screen for dramatic effect and read: “Also we’ve been making a tiny human.”
Mark’s Dancing with the Stars family quickly flooded his post with congratulatory messages. Peta Murgatroyd, who welcomed her second child this month, wrote, “So so so happy for you both!!! The best news xxxxx love you guys.” Emma Slater commented, “I’ve been waiting to see this!! THE BEST THING EVER!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ This is such a you announcement btw hahaha love and miss you guys, can’t wait to see all 3 of you soon!!!!!” Julianne Hough wrote, “Yessssssssssssss baby!!!!!! We love this baby so much already!”
The couple’s baby news comes three months after the dancer confirmed his retirement from the long-running dancing competition show. “I just want to finish this by saying that this will be the last time you see me dance in this capacity,” he shared on the show last year. “I’m coming to a close tonight. This is going to be my last dance.” The multi-talented performer has dove head-first into music since his departure, putting all his efforts into his and BC’s band Alexander Jean. The band, which started in 2012, is how the couple met. The two became engaged in 2015 and married the following year.
Congratulations to Mark and BC on the news of the first baby! We wish them all the best in preparing for parenthood.
