Meghan McCain, television personality and daughter of the late Senator John McCain, has announced the arrival of her first child with her husband Ben Domenech.
The View co-host and her husband have welcomed a baby girl and they chose a very patriotic name for her: Liberty Sage McCain Domenech! The name Liberty is an American name meaning “freedom” while Sage is an English name that means “prophet.”
Meghan announced her pregnancy just as the country was starting to address concerns over the coronavirus. Before quarantine and media operating at home, Meghan shared that she would continue to co-host The View at the time via satellite. Of course, that’s the direction most news shows went in that direction as well.
In July of last year, Meghan wrote an op-ed in The New York Times where she revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage and shared what the experience taught her. “I am not hiding anymore. My miscarriage was a horrendous experience and I would not wish it upon anyone.” She went on to address the stigma surrounding miscarriage. “Even to this day, the subject of a miscarriage carries so much cultural taboo. Miscarriage is a pain too often unacknowledged. Yet it is real, and what we have lost is real. We feel sorrow and we weep because our babies were real.”
We’re so happy that Meghan and Ben we able to welcome their rainbow baby. We wish them all the best as they begin this journey as parents to baby Liberty.
