Musician Aaron Carter has announced the arrival of his first child! Aaron began documenting his partner Melanie Martin’s delivery yesterday as the couple headed to the hospital. Today, their little one made their arrival!
To reveal the news, the “So Much To Say” singer shared a picture of himself cutting his newborn’s umbilical cord. It’s a boy! Aaron and Melanie have chosen the name Prince Lyric Carter for their son. Throughout Melanie’s pregnancy, the couple had been referring to their son as Prince. It wasn’t until earlier this month that they revealed the inspiration behind the name.
When Aaron was at the height of his popularity in the 2000s, he was very close to the late Michael Jackson. Michael, who was famously known as the “King of Pop,” would refer to Aaron as the “Prince of Pop,” which was what inspired Aaron to name his son Prince.
Aaron revealed in his announcement of Prince’s arrival that Melanie had to undergo an emergency c-section to deliver their baby boy. “Emergency C Section after 13 hours of labor but my fiancé is in great health thank you lord and the incredibly sweet loving staff here.” He also shared a message for Prince and Melanie in his post. ” Prince is precious I love you son. Your mommy loves you as I drop tears on the phone. @missmelaniemartin I’m so proud of you hunny you did it I Love you with all my heart my beautiful blessings from god.”
The c-section didn’t come as a complete surprise, as they revealed it might be a possibility due to some complications Melanie was facing during her pregnancy. She has anemia and ulcerative colitis.
Congratulations to Aaron and Melanie on the birth of baby Prince! We wish them lots of love as they enter this new journey together.
