Last week, news that actress Olivia Munn and comedian John Mulaney welcomed their first child together. Now, in honor of the holidays, the couple have officially announced the arrival of their first child together – including the name they chose!

TMZ announced the news last week that the Violet star and the comedian welcomed a baby boy just before Thanksgiving, on November 24th, at a hospital in Los Angeles. Both Olivia and John shared photos of their son wrapped in a white blanket wearing a light blue hat. They have chosen the name Malcolm Hiệp Mulaney. The name Hiệp is of Sino-Vietnamese origin that means chivalrous, knight, or hero. Olivia has Vietnamese roots from her mother.

In her announcement, Olivia called Malcolm her “Golden Ox baby,” which is based on the Chinese zodiac. Olivia inherited Chinese ancestry from her mother as well. The actress spoke about how her mother was preparing for her grandchild with People a few months ago. “My mom crochets and knits a lot of stuff,” Olivia shared. “She makes little rattles or stuffed animal toys already. This is still a new experience for me so to see my mom excited makes it feel a lot more real! I’m really excited.”

For his Instagram post, John turned to his comedic side writing, “He has his whole life ahead of him. He hasn’t even tried seltzer yet. I’m very in love with him and his whole deal.” Both celebrities turned off the comments on their posts.

Congratulations to Olivia and John on the arrival of baby Malcolm! We wish them all the best as they navigate this new parenthood journey together.
