Professional tennis player Taylor Townsend has welcomed her first child into the world! She shared a post to her Instagram feed today revealing all the details about her newborn.

Taylor is the proud mother of a baby boy! She revealed that her son was born on March 14th and that his name is Adyn Aubrey Johnson. In the caption of her photo she shared, “I guess I made y’all wait long enough!! I can’t put into words how happy I am to introduce the love of my life!! He is perfect!”

Taylor announced last October that she was expecting her first child. The tennis star shared a video to her IGTV that showed a video and photo collage of her playing tennis. Taylor spoke through a voiceover discussing the many, many challenges she faced as a young athlete at the age of 12 right up through her career even today. “My entire life, my entire career, I’ve heard ‘You can’t,’ ‘You won’t.’ And I’ve used it as a reason to fight hard and as motivation to keep playing.”

She continued, “I’m sure this won’t be any different. So I have to prove them wrong again. Because now, I have the best reason ever to fight. You might think what I’ve done so far is impressive, but just wait until you see what I do next.” The video then shot to Taylor holding her growing baby bump. Then, a formal announcement appeared on the screen that said, “Baby Townsend Due March 2021!”

Taylor never shared who the father of her child is. In her announcement, she referred to her child as “Baby Townsend.” Now, however, it appears his last name is Johnson, which is likely the surname of his father. This information has not been confirmed by Taylor and no details are known yet.

Taylor is fully embracing her role as a new mother and enjoying all the precious moments with her son. We wish her all the best as she embarks on this exciting new adventure. Congratulations, Taylor!
