The singer stepped out in New York City to debut her baby bump and she has been rocking the most stylish pregnancy looks ever since. The look that started it all was the outfit she wore to officially debut her baby bump. While on a walk with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, the Fenty Beauty founder wore wide-leg light wash jeans and a long pink puffer coat. The coat was only buttons on the top to expose her growing baby bump. Rihanna wore long necklaces underneath her coat that beautifully accented her bump.
Maternity wear has notoriously been lauded as frumpy but Rihanna is showing people everywhere that it doesn’t have to be! Instead of covering up her bump, she has put it on display on social media, at red carpets and events, and on the street. The “Pon de Replay” singer spoke with Bustle about breaking the societal norm of pregnancy fashion. “It’s been me personally saying, I’m not going to buy maternity clothes. I’m not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before.”
Earlier this month, Rihanna attended an event with Ulta Beauty in honor of her makeup line, Fenty Beauty, being sold at the retailer. Rihanna showed up in a gorgeous outfit. She wore a long, sparkly skirt, a long-sleeved cutout crop top, and a chain around her bump. So glamorous!
One of Rihanna’s most dramatic looks to date was the all-black outfit she wore to the Dior show at Paris Fashion Week this month. The makeup mogul was dressed in sheer lingerie: a pair of plain black panties and a lacy bra with a black mesh dress that hit at the knee. Her baby bump was gloriously in view beneath the mesh. Rihanna paired the look with knee-high black boots and layered necklaces.
While the mom-to-be has been unashamedly showing off her growing bump in many of her looks, she’s also proving to us that you can be style while covering up your bump. The singer was recently spotted walking hand-in-hand with A$AP Rocky while wearing a baby pink tiered tulle overlay dress by Simone Rocha.
