This evening, singer Rihanna performed live at the Super Bowl during the halftime show, marking her first performance since the 2018 Grammy Awards. The iconic moment was made even more special when she revealed her pregnancy while wearing a stunning red outfit that showed off her growing bump. Following much speculation, reps for the “Umbrella” singer confirmed the news after her performance.

Rihanna was dressed in red from head to toe and during her performance, which features a medley of her famous hits, she held her stomach and showed it off proudly. Her performance marks a first for the sporting event as this is the first time a pregnant woman has performed during the halftime show. The news comes less than one year after Rihanna welcomed her first child in May 2022.

Rihanna welcomed her son, whose name has not yet been revealed, with rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple is wasting no time in growing their family. The rapper was in attendance for his partner’s performance, dancing along to the music.

Prior to her performance, Rihanna teased her news during an interview with CBS Sports’ Nate Burleson. “I’m thinking about bringing someone, I’m not sure. We’ll see.” Halftime performances are notorious for featuring special guests and fans wondered which artist Rihanna might bring out on stage with her to perform. The “We Found Love” singer has collaborated with a number of artists in the past including Eminem, Coldplay, and Kanye West. Her tease was effective as very few could have guessed that Rihanna would bring a guest who can’t sing a word just yet.

Congratulations to Rihanna and A$AP Rocky on the news of their second child! We wish them lots of love as they prepare to grow their family.
