Singer Shay Mooney, of the country music duo Dan + Shay, has announced exciting family news. Shay and his wife Hannah Billingsley are expecting their third child together! But that wasn’t all they had to share about their little one.
The couple shared an Instagram Reel video that showed them sharing their baby news with their two children: sons Asher James and Ames Alexander. The boys knew of their mom’s pregnancy already but Hannah shared additional news with her sons. They would be adding a boy to the family! The new addition is expected to arrive this winter.
In the video, Asher, the couple’s oldest child, is a bit disappointed in having a brother because he really wanted a sister. “I wanted a sister,” Asher shared. His mother sweetly consoled him by replying, “I know baby. God knows what we need and God decided you needed another baby brother because you’re such a good big brother to Amesy.” Ames, who is 2-years-old, simply replied, “Oh,” when learning he would be a brother to a baby boy.
The “Glad You Exist” singer and Hannah, former Miss. Arkansas, first met in 2014 through mutual friends. They became engaged in August of 2016, two months before announcing they were pregnant with their first child. The couple welcomed Asher in January of 2017 and tied the knot later that year in October in Arkansas. It was later revealed that the couple actually tied the knot privately sometime in 2016. Just a few days ago, Shay shared an anniversary post with his wife to celebrate 6 years together writing, “6 years baby 😍 Don’t know how you’ve put up with me for this long, but I’m sure glad you do. I love you so much Hannah Love. Here’s to the next 50.” Hannah shared a post of her own to commemorate the anniversary writing, “6 years. Millions of laughs, thousands of tears, hundreds of concerts, countless prayers, and a lifetime still to come.”
