Last month, Princess Beatrice, granddaughter to Queen Elizabeth and daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, welcomed her first child. Today, Princess Beatrice’s husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi revealed the name the couple chose for their first child together.

Edoardo shared an image of his daughter’s footprints with her birth date, September 18, 2021, and the name the couple chose written in script beneath it: Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. The name Elizabeth, of course, is a nod to Queen Elizabeth. Princess Beatrice’s cousin Prince Harry also chose to name his newest child, a daughter he welcomed with Meghan Markle, after their grandmother. Prince Harry and Meghan named their daughter Lilibet, which is Queen Elizabeth’s family nickname for her. The name Sienna is an Italian name, which is likely a nod to Edoardo’s Italian heritage.

Edoardo accompanied the announcement with a message of gratitude for his expanded family. “Our life together has just begun, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things that await us. Feeling so much love and gratitude for my amazing wife, baby Sienna and Wolfie. These are the days I never want to forget. This week, a friend said to me the sweetest saying….that with every child you grow a whole new heart 💖 A massive thank you to the Midwife and the amazing team at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. 🙏🏻 x.”

Princess Beatrice made the announcement on her Twitter page with the same image Edoardo shared. To caption the image, she wrote, “👣 We are delighted to share that we have named our daughter Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. We are all doing well and Wolfie is the best big brother to Sienna.”

While Sienna is the couple’s first child they’ve welcomed together, Edoardo has a child from a previous relationship, a son named Christopher Woolf, known as “Wolfie.”

Congratulations again to Beatrice and Edoardo on the arrival of Sienna! They have chosen a beautiful name for their daughter.
