It’s no secret that Nick Cannon likes to have babies. At the time of this writing, Nick’s brood currently consists eleven children, including two sets of twins! But why is Nick Cannon having so many children? In an Instagram post introducing Onyx Ice Cole Cannon born September 14, 2022, he posted, “I’ve given up on attempting to define myself for the world or society but instead I’m doing the work to heal and grow into the infinite Being God ordained me to be.”

We’ve put together a guide for you on all of Nick Cannon’s children to date. Here we go!

April 30, 2011: Monroe & Moroccan Scott Cannon

Twins Monroe and Moroccan Scott were born on April 30, 2011 with one of the most famous of Nick Cannon’s mates, internationally renowned singer Mariah Carey. Nick and Mariah’s marriage lasted for six years, and she was his only wife to date. Monroe was reportedly named after Marilyn Monroe and does not have a middle name, like her mom. Moroccan’s middle name Scott is after Nick’s grandmother’s maiden name. Moroccan (whose nickname is “Roc”) was supposedly named after the decorations in the room where Nick proposed to Mariah.

February 22, 2017: Golden Sagon Cannon

Nick’s third child, and first with American model Brittany Bell, is son Golden Sagon, born in February of 2017. Golden continued Nick’s trend of using dictionary words as names. It is unclear of the meaning of Sagon, but there is a Javanese custom with that name as well as a martial artist.

December 23, 2020: Powerful Queen Cannon

Nick and Brittany Bell went on to have baby girl Powerful Queen on December 23, 2020. There is no question that Nick also likes expectation names, which are controversial in the baby names world since they present a description to which the child might not live up to. However, it can also add to a child’s sense of self as they grow.

June 14, 2021: Zion Mixolydian & Zillion Heir Cannon

Nick continued multiplying his children by having another set of twins with DJ Abby De La Rosa. Both boys, Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir were born on June 14, 2021. Zion’s name contains both biblical and musical references. Zion is defined as a “city of holiness” in the Bible, and Mixolydian is the 5th mode of the major scale. Zillion (whose nickname is “Zilly”) sounds more like a financial expectation, that he will become a zillionaire, a child-like word for very wealthy person.

June 23, 2021: Zen Scott Cannon

On June 23, 2021, Nick and model Alyssa Scott had baby boy Zen Scott. Tragically, Zen died five months later of brain cancer. The word Zen is a proper noun meaning a school of Buddhism that originated in Japan. It’s closely associated with the feeling of peace and calm.

June 28, 2022: Legendary Love Cannon

Model and real estate agent Bre Tiesi had a baby girl with Nick on June 28, 2022. They named her Legendary Love. This is again a combination of an adjective and a noun. However, could it also mean that Nick and Bre share a special bond that is possibly different than his relationship with the other women?

September 14, 2022: Onyx Ice Cole Cannon

Nick and American model LaNisha Cole announced the birth of their baby girl Onyx Ice Cole in September of 2022. Onyx is a silicate crystal mineral that is black. Ice is, well, frozen water. They used the mother’s maiden name as a second middle name to honor both the mother and the father.

September 23, 2022: Rise Messiah Cannon

Nick and Brittany Bell had their second boy together in September of 2022, named Rise Messiah. Rise means to uplift or lift one’s self, while Messiah is clearly and allusion to a religious savior.

November 11, 2022: Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon

On November 11, 2022, Nick and Abby De La Rosa had a third child together, a girl named Beautiful Zeppelin. This is a combination of an expectation name and a noun, which is somewhat quizzical and contradictory. Of course, we know what beautiful means, but a Zeppelin is an airship. Although not technically a blimp, a zeppelin is commonly confused with one. Of course, there is also the band Led Zeppelin, but it’s not clear whether the band influenced Nick and Abby’s baby name.

December 14, 2022: Halo Marie Cannon

Nick and Alyssa were happy to announce that their second child, and Nick’s most recent, was born on December 14, 2022. They named her Halo Marie. Current thoughts based on our users as well as Internet buzz, is that this is one of Nick’s most beautiful (and mainstream) of Nick Cannon’s baby names. What do you think?

In an interview with ABC News, Cannon said, “We’re here to be fruitful and multiply…That’s what our beings are made for, so we can raise our offspring up so they can have offspring, and [have] generations after generations.” Indeed, Nick and his mates are definitely fertilizing the Cannon family tree, which may influence both baby-having trends as well as baby naming trends. We can only see!
