I have tried several teething toys to help soothe my 5-month-old’s discomfort since she has begun teething. She has not really taken a liking to any of the teethers I’ve tried including teething rings and the oh-so popular Sophie Giraffe Teether.
When we received the SweetTooth Baby Teether and the Mama & Little Teething Necklace, I was skeptical my little one would take to either.
When we introduced her to the SweetTooth Baby Teether, she immediately grabbed it and started chewing on it! This teether is adorably shaped like an ice cream cone and is also sweetly fragranced. Its size and shape makes it easy to be held by our little one. We also love that this product is made with medical and food grade silicone, is recyclable, non toxic, anti-microbial, hypoallergenic, and latex free. It is made of one single piece so there is no risk of a part or piece detaching or breaking off and causing a choking hazard. It’s also easy to wash and can be freezed and used cold too. We are happy to finally find a teether that our daughter likes and uses!
Inspired by our success with the first teether, we introduced our daughter to the Mama & Little teething necklace next. This is one of the more chic and stylish pieces I have seen in the world of “teething jewelry”, with pretty white and grey marbled beads and soft pink larger beads too. It is more sophisticated looking than a lot of the brightly colored teething necklaces you find out there. And, as it turns out, the necklace is not only stylish, it is also functional and serves its purpose.
Although my five month old daughter did not really seem interested in this teething necklace herself, I think it has more to do with the fact that she is still too young and has not cut any teeth yet to fully utilize the necklace. However I did wear the necklace to a birthday party last weekend where several moms there initially thought I was just wearing a real pretty statement necklace. They were quite surprised to find out it was actually a teething necklace when their own children (who are a little older than our daughter and have already had some teeth come in) quickly grabbed at it and started chewing on it! Many of the moms were excited to see their kids go right for the necklace, and were also impressed at how fashionable it was, and they asked where I got it from and said they were going purchase one as soon as they got home!
I also love that the Mama & Little teething necklace is made out of the highest quality food-grade silicone and is non-toxic and free of BPA, PVC, phthalate, cadmium, latex, lead, and heavy metals. The necklace also has a breakaway safety clasp as an added safety measure. The company also makes stylish teething bracelets and also sells teething jewelry sets which would make great a great baby shower gift for any new mom.
I would recommend both the SweetTooth Baby Teether and Mama & Little teething necklace to any mom with a teething baby, not only do they work but the SweetTooth teether is adorable and the Mama & Little necklace very stylish.
