Reality star Jill Duggar took to Instagram to share sad news for her family this weekend. Jill and her husband Derick Dillard revealed the stillbirth of their fifth baby. “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the stillbirth of our beautiful baby.”
The “Counting the Cost” authors revealed that “Jill was 4 months pregnant (due in August) when we found out that our baby died in utero.” They went on to explain that “from the moment we found out we were pregnant, we couldn’t wait to meet our baby.” The Counting On star and her husband’s baby was a girl and they chose to name her Isla Marie Dillard.
Jill and Derick, who tied the knot in 2014, share three boys together: Israel David, 9, Samuel Scott, 6, and Frederick Michael, 1. The couple shared that, “Isla was much loved from the start, and her 3 big brothers were so excited to introduce her to their world.” Sadly, Isla is not the first baby the couple has lost. In 2021, the couple suffered a miscarriage. They named the child they lost River Bliss.
To end the news on their Instagram post, the couple shared, “We appreciate your prayers as we continue to grieve and heal from the loss of our little Isla Marie.” Our thoughts are with Jill, Derick, and their family during this difficult time.
