Actor Brant Daugherty has announced the arrival of his first child with his wife, actress Kimberly Daugherty, née Hidalgo. The Pretty Little Liars alum shared that his first child arrived three weeks ago. The couple announced their pregnancy back in December.
Brant is now the proud father of a baby boy! The couple has chosen to name their son Wilder David Daugherty. Wilder shares his middle name of David with his father. The name David is also a tribute to Brant’s late father.
Unfortunately, Wilder’s arrival came at an inopportune time for the actor! The actor shared with Access Hollywood that his son arrived earlier than expected. Brant was in Canada shooting a movie. He shared, “The movie ended 2 days after her due date, so we thought, ok I’ll take the film as a way of providing for my family. And hopefully, I’ll make it. Cause a lot of first babies come late… He came a little bit early so I, unfortunately, missed the birth. It was heartbreaking.”
Luckily, the Hallmark movie star was able to watch his son’s birth via FaceTime. “I was stuck in a hotel in Vancouver watching on FaceTime as my son came into the world. My sister-in-law did [the FaceTime]. So bless her heart. She held the camera up for an hour while it all happened.”
Congratulations to Brant and Kimberly on welcoming their first son into the world! We wish them all the best as they settle in as a family of three.
