Actor Chris Sullivan, most notably known for portraying the role of Toby Damon on This Is Us, has announced the arrival of his second child with his wife Rachel. The couple gave their newborn a unique name and even made a fun video to share how to pronounce it.

The couple announced in May that they were expecting their second child and revealed at that time they would be welcoming a girl. Their daughter has arrived! “She came 3 weeks early, fully grown, healthy and VERY strong. A super fast and smooth delivery (much to her mother’s relief),” the couple shared in a joint Instagram post. “She has immediately captured our hearts and doubled the love.”

Chris and Rachel chose to name their daughter Aoife Beatrix Sullivan, with the couple referring to her as Aoife Bea in their post. Aoife is an Irish name that means beautiful and radiant. To help their fans pronounce Aoife’s name, the couple enlisted the help of their friend Benny Lewis, author of Fluent in 3 Months and known as the Irish polyglat. Chris shared a video where Benny shared a bit of information about Irish pronunciations before revealing that in the language, “ai” is pronounced “ee.” Therefore, Aoifa is pronounced “EEf-ya.”

Aoifa joins the Sullivan family with an older brother, the couple’s first child named Bear Maxwell. Bear was very excited to become a big brother as his parents shared that “Brother Bear is enamored and overjoyed to welcome his sister home, telling everyone ‘baby coming!’ the day she was born.”

Congratulations to Chris and Rachel on the arrival of their second child! We wish them lots of love as they welcome Aoife into their family.
