Actor Michael Cera has welcomed his first child! The actor had not previously shared that he and his partner Nadine were expecting a baby. The news was revealed in a bit of an unconventional way.
Michael and his co-star Amy Schumer were doing a joint interview with Entertainment Tonight for their new show Life & Beth when Amy made a bit of a slip-up. The comedian was talking about her two-year-old son Gene when she said, “Michael has a baby, too.” Then she realized her mistake and said, “Is that public knowledge? I just outed him, I just outed his baby.”
Michael took the mistake in stride and shared, “We’re right at the beginning of it. We’re doing the very basics right now.” In a separate interview with Extra, the Superbad star shared a few details about his newborn: he and Michael welcomed a son about six months ago. “He’s just a little 6-month-old baby,” he shared in the interview.
It’s not entirely shocking that Michael would choose to keep this part of his life a secret. The actor has been notoriously private about his personal life, including his relationship with his longtime partner Nadine. It was reported in March of 2018 that he and Nadine had gotten married to Nadine after he was spotted in Brooklyn and appeared to be wearing a gold wedding band on his ring finger. While US Weekly seemingly confirmed the news, neither Michael nor Nadine have officially confirmed their relationship status to this day.
