Yellowjackets star Christina Ricci welcomed her second child, her first with partner Mark Hampton, in December. Today, a clip from The Ellen DeGeneres Show showed the actress sharing a funny story about how her daughter ended up with her name.

When Christina announced the arrival of her baby girl, she revealed her name was Cleo. Over on Mark’s Instagram where he announced the news, he shared her full name: Cleopatra Ricci Hampton. Now, it appears, there was some miscommunication between the parents regarding Cleo’s name!

Before Christina went in for her c-section to deliver Cleo, the couple were talking about their daughter’s birth certificate. They had decided on the name Cleo already but Christina recalled, “My husband was like, ‘Well, we’re going to give her a full name right? And the nickname is Cleo?’ And I was like, ‘Cleopatra?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, the full name’s Cleopatra.’ And I was sort of like, ‘Fine, whatever. We’ll talk about this later.'”

Christina then shared with Ellen that Mark was a bit excited after Cleo’s birth. “He got so excited he put it on Instagram, and media outlets picked up that her name was Cleopatra Ricci Hampton, and I was like, ‘Oh, I guess her name’s Cleopatra.'” Christina isn’t too upset about the miscommunication now, however. She thinks that Cleopatra is a “great name.”

Cleo definitely has a fun little backstory for her name! The BabyNames team actually talked about Christina and Mark’s name choice on our yearly best and worst celebrity baby names episode. Check it out now to see what our thoughts were on the name Cleopatra.
