Actress and director Greta Gerwig revealed exciting news last evening during her appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. The Little Women director is expecting her second child with her partner Noah Baumbach!

“I am with child,” Greta announced to which the audience erupted in applause. She admitted that she initially attempted to announce the news at an event but “nobody cared.” The Barbie writer and director explained, “I went to an event recently, and I wore something, and I thought everyone would be so interested that I was having another child, and nobody cared. It didn’t get reported on.” She then teased, “Turns out nobody’s paying attention.”

Greta and Noah, a filmmaker welcomed their first child together in 2019. The couple chose to keep their pregnancy a secret and revealed the news in a public statement at the time. They welcomed a son named Harold in March of that year. During her interview with Jimmy Fallon, the White Noise star shared what Harold thinks about becoming an older brother soon. “It’s hard to know what a 3-year-old makes of things that aren’t existent yet in front of him. He’s beautifully sophisticated in some ways and then in other ways, he asks, ‘What language do they speak in New Jersey?'” Noah has another child from a previous relationship. He shares a son named Rohmer with his ex-wife, actress Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Great first met Noah when he cast her for a leading role in the 2010 film Greenberg. The couple has collaborated on films over the years, even working as co-writers on occasion.

Congratulations to Greta and Noah on the news of the second child together! We wish them lots of love as they prepare to grow their family.
