Former 19 Kids and Counting Star Jill Dillard (née Duggar) is adding another little one to her family! Jill and her husband, Derick Dillard, are expecting their third child together. The exciting news comes months after the couple suffered a miscarriage.

“We are expecting our rainbow baby due July 2022!” the couple revealed in an announcement video on their family blog. The couple had shared in October that they had suffered a miscarriage and revealed the name of their angel baby: River Bliss Dillard. The Dillard’s referenced this baby in their announcement writing, “Ever since we were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our sweet baby, River Bliss, we have prayed that, if it was God’s will, he would bless us with another baby. We are excited to announce that God has answered our prayers.”

The couple also opened up about Jill’s pregnancy sharing, “We are so thankful for a healthy baby and pregnancy so far and we look forward to finding out the gender soon!” Jill and Derick share two sons together: Israel David, 6, and Samuel Scott, 4.

When the couple announced the miscarriage of baby River, they revealed why they chose the names River and Bliss for their little one. “One meaning for River is ‘tranquil’…and here in Arkansas, rivers are often a serene, beautiful escape in nature. Our baby doesn’t get to live here with us on earth, but is forever with the source of the river of life, in the presence of the Lord! And we chose Bliss for a middle name because our baby is living in perfect bliss with the Lord and was such a gift that brought immense joy and happiness to us even though only with us here on earth for a short time.”

Congratulations to Jill and Derick on the news of their rainbow baby! We wish them all the best as they prepare to welcome a new baby into the world.
