This weekend, actress Keke Palmer hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time and she made the experience memorable by sharing an exciting announcement. The Nope star is expecting her first child with her boyfriend Darius Jackson!
During the opening monologue, Keke, whose real name is Lauren Keyana Palmer, shared, “There’s some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I wanna set the record straight.” The actress opened her long jacket to reveal her baby bump. “I am!” The actress did no reveal when she is due.
The Lightyear star spoke about dealing with rumors that end up actually being true. “I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you y’all, but it’s even worse when they’re correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know?” The new mom-to-be then expressed her gratitude for her pregnancy. “But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I’m going to be a mom.”
Keke has kept her relationship with Darius largely private but did open up a bit on The Tamron Hall Show last November after posting since-deleted images of her partner on her Instagram page. “It became more difficult to hide. We spend all this time together, and he really is my closest friend, so it just becomes a thing where I’m not gonna hide something that makes me happy. It’s not gonna be everything you see, my job is my job, but at the end of the day this is somebody that is important to me so why not.”
Congratulations to Keke and Darius on the news of their pregnancy! We wish them lots of love as they prepare to become parents.
