Princess Eugenie is growing her family! The granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II is expecting her second child with her husband Jack Brooksbank. “We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer.”

Eugenie shared the news on her Instagram page alongside an image of the couple’s first child, son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank who was born in February 2021, kissing his mother’s baby bump. Buckingham Palace also issued a statement with the news. “Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are pleased to announce they are expecting their second child this summer. The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother.” Eugenie’s second child will be the first great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II’s to be born after her passing in September 2022.

Eugenie, the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, first met Jack in 2010 during a ski trip in Verbier, Switzerland. Jack was friends with Eugenie’s cousin Prince Harry. The couple has shared that it was “love at first sight.” Jack asked Eugenie to marry him while the two were vacationing in Nicaragua in January 2018. Eugenie and Jack tied the knot nine months later on October 12, 2018, in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

For their anniversary last year, Eugenie shared a sweet image of the couple from their wedding day, a black and white photo of the couple kissing in an antique carriage. “Happy Anniversary my Jack. 4 years and counting.”

Congratulations to Princess Eugenie and Jack on the news of their second child! We wish them lots of love as they prepare to grow their family.
