Earlier this month, reality star Whitney Port shared that she and her husband Tim Rosenman were pregnant again. In a YouTube video that shared the news, Whitney tearfully revealed that this was “likely another unhealthy pregnancy.” Now, she has shared a devastating update on her pregnancy. She has suffered a miscarriage.

The Hills: New Beginnings star revealed the news on her Instagram Stories two nights ago. She wrote, “I’m so sad to say this, and some of you may have watched on our latest YouTube episode, but we lost the baby. We found out yesterday. I don’t even really say know what to here. I recorded a full-on verbal diary of all my thoughts and emotions last night that I’ll put out on my podcast next week. Sending all my love to those of you dealing with this right now. And I don’t want to be insensitive by making light of it, but glass half full- I don’t physically feel like complete shit anymore.”

Whitney and Tim talked about the miscarriage on their YouTube channel this week. “So, it’s not good news,” Tim started. Whitney shared with tears on her face what happened during her appointment. “I went today for the 8 [weeks] and 4-day ultrasound. Last week the baby had doubled and he heard the heartbeat and then this week, there was no heartbeat.”

Despite some indications previously that the pregnancy may be unhealthy, the couple was “hopeful.” They shared that they both felt “naive” for being hopeful. Tim opened up about the difficulty of managing your feelings around this kind of situation. “It’s such a mind-f*ck, this whole how you’re supposed to act and behave, what you’re supposed to do in this first trimester.”

“There’s no ‘supposed to’,” Whitney continued. “Everything was going good last week. I just didn’t think it was going to reverse. You just don’t know what’s going to happen in the first trimester.” Her doctor shared with her that this happens in “30% of pregnancies” and that if they “want to get pregnant again that we should look into fertility testing and IVF.”

Prior to this, the couple had suffered two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy. They are open to new options because they “don’t want to go through this again.” They share one child together, a son named Sonny Sanford.

We send Whitney and Tim lots of love as they navigate through this difficult time and thank them for being so open about an experience that many other families go through.
