Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife Hilaria have grown their family by one more! After revealing in March that they were expecting their seventh child together, the couple has welcomed their newborn.
Hilaria shared an announcement video on her Instagram page. “She’s here! We are so excited to introduce you to our tiny dream come true.” The couple named their newborn daughter Ilaria Catalina Irena. Ilaria is an Italian name that means “cheerful” while Catalina and Irena are both Spanish names that mean “pure” and “peace,” respectively. Ilaria, whom the couple shared was a girl in May, made her arrival on September 22nd. “Both she and I are happy and healthy,” Hilaria shared. “Her Baldwinito siblings are spending the day bonding and welcoming her into our home. Much love to you all. We are so happy to celebrate this wonderful news with you.”
Ilaria joins a large family with seven siblings. Alec and Hilaria share six other children together: Romeo Alejandro David, Leonardo Ángel Charles, Rafael Thomas, Carmen Gabriela, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, and Maria Lucia “Marilu” Victoria. Alec also shares an adult daughter named Ireland Eliesse with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.
When announcing her pregnancy, Hilaria shared that this was surprising news for the family. “We were pretty sure our family was complete, and we’re beyond happy with this surprise. Our new baby is a very bright spot in our lives. A blessing and a gift during such uncertain times.” In June of last year, the actor’s wife opened up about how she had grown her family and her changing body writing, “After 5 babies out of my body, 3 chemical pregnancies, 1 miscarriage at 9 weeks, one at 4 months and a round of ivf, resulting in Marilu—my body has gone on quite a journey for the family we have. I have done my fair share of self abuse…but, through much work on my mental health, I’ve learned to be grateful for her and support her. When we grow to love our changing forms—loose skin and all—that we honor our full life’s journey.”
